April Flurries

Just when we get a warm day, and we start an outdoor landscaping project,

sometimes within HOURS, it begins snowing again.

Our Stake President says its our fault for fasting for so much moisture.

I don't remember participating in that.

But it does give me a chance to see my snow Angels.

I had kept alive for 6 years. 

No biggie...

Mitchell pointed out that Britta and I were wearing the same pajamas.

Funny coincidence.

Britta may be a little bit in love with her Dad.

I mean, a man who crochets? 

Who wouldn't be.

We went to the grocery store, and had an EASTER BUNNY sighting!

(You'll notice that Parker is in on the secret, 

and therefore not at all interested in indulging these childish antics.)

They also had a pizza making workshop.

Dinner's on them for once!

And since we are talking about eating at grocery stores,

You know you have lunch at Sam's Club too often when your son feels comfortable enough to lay down and savor his hot dog like he owns the place.

Best Easter present was a visit from MICHELLE!!

Michelle was a PRO at hiding over 150 eggs with Richard!

And with about five jelly beans per egg,

that's enough sugar to power a two-year-old for about a month.

In our Sunday best, of course.

She's smiling now, but it got pretty cutthroat towards the end.

And here's "two at a time" Mitchell.

Coloring Easter eggs with Aunt Tess and Uncle Ty.

Britta failed to understand why she couldn't just drink the vinegar/dye combo.

I was almost tempted to let her, just once.

Mitchell, after being distraught that there wasn't orange, went blue all the way.

Colette had a way of dipping the eggs into just the right combination of colors until it was the most vibrant and beautiful new color.

Parker didn't mind getting his hands dirty.

And Tess, well, Tess got really good at making brown.

Ok, holidays are over... Back to school!

Colette made a diorama with lego pieces and yarn.

It's a jungle.

Parker opted with an origami approach.

He always sees an interesting and different way to do things.

And while it always includes a lot more effort than other options,

I'm really proud of his ingenuity and bravery with things like this.

It was a really cool experience learning to fold these creatures with him.

It may be our new favorite hobby.

And of course Link needed to make an appearance on top of the ocean scene.

Windwaker Link, that is.

And Mitchell's not off the hook when it comes to hard work.

The Easter bunny brought him a Gem Excavating Kit.

(I LOVE these Discovery Kids science kits)

He spent hours and days chiseling away at that rock.

It was so exciting because every day he would find several different kinds.

To him they are diamonds without price.

I used a Michael's coupon and it was a great purchase.

I favor this kind of adventure for the kids much more than a throw away toy any day.

Someone here has lost a tooth!!

It's her second.

The tooth fairy almost forgot.

She does that a lot around here.

(by the way, Parker knows that secret too.)

But Santa is still real. ;) ;)

Please, don't say anything.

The best part is that there are SO many bubbles in this tub, that her head didn't even go underwater!

haha.

Our friendly deer make their daily jaunt across our lawn.

When the snow cleared long enough for Richard to actually MOW THE GRASS,

he made a very unusual pattern.

(blush)

He's so sweet.

By the way, DJ is a nickname for me. 

Don't be worried.

I told him the ideal would be to write a note in the grass just at the moment that Google Earth takes a new picture! 

That would be classic.

Now April nears it's end, and we've loved it...

...snow and all.
