YONO!
SWEET MITCHELL IS NINE!
For breakfast Mitchell requested
"Crepes with Grapes"
Jonah and Christian made the trek from Utah to celebrate with us...
They brought Mr. Potato too.
One of my kids' favorite shows is called Gumball.
There is a character named Idaho, that is a potato.
Naturally.
Why so excited?
Because you know if you give a Mitchell a helmet,
he'll probably get a BMX BIKE too!
Mitchell had a soccer game and it was the MOST EXCITING game ever!
His best friend Josh (middle) scored THREE goals!
He attributed it to all the birthday energy on the field.
What a good friend!
Jameson (right) played goalie and kept the other team from taking our WIN!
Party dinner!
Everything MINECRAFT!
We could only have chicken, potatoes, vegetables and bread.
(The gravy was controversial, because in Minecraft it doesn't exist)
But southern mama wants some gravy!
We even made GOLDEN apples!
Then the cake featured a CHARGED CREEPER
(no idea)
which was chocolate cake with chocolate frosting,
and decorated with Airheads, fondant and rock candy.
After four hours of decorating this beast of a cake,
I showed it to Mitchell.
His typical response was,
"Great Mom, but it doesn't matter if it doesn't taste good!"
ha!
Lucky for me, it did!
WISHES!
I know what mine would be--
That Mitchell would stop growing so fast!
More presents from all our sweet cousins that were there!
Mitchell, my #3, is quite a kid!
He is incredibly smart.
Always top of the class.
He brought home an award for the most 100% tests
ever received in the class.
He gets his homework done before we drive home from school.
With such quick thinking,
he has lots of time in class to chatter.
He often gets the "special" chair
next to the wall by himself!
Which he thinks is a compliment.
Even when he is in trouble,
he isn't,
Not in his mind.
He is the eternal optimist.
He always sees the good side to everything.
We will all be starving and looking for a restaurant,
or someone will get thrown out the window,
but Mitchell is making jokes about eating tires.
He loves correcting people because he does know so much.
It isn't anyone's favorite thing about him,
but I'm always secretly impressed that he knows what is correct all the time.
He loves to read,
and I can often find him reading to Cora early in the morning.
He is the most patient child,
not exploding over every little thing.
He will have his meltdowns,
but it's very few and far in between
(and I might add, completely justified!)
With such a calm demeanor,
he easily can go unnoticed.
He doesn't demand attention,
but he definitely deserves it.
So here's to my #3...
three cheers for
Mitchell!
HOORAY!
HOORAY!
HOORAY!
