Cora's Birthday!
FIVE-YEARS-OLD!
Good morning Birthday Girl!
What strange sized presents!
(The tall one is a kite)
She got the surprise "egg" with a bunny/unicorn thing inside!
Unfortunately,
the birthday girl was just getting over a stomach bug.
She had been throwing up all night!
Really sad.
So we really pampered her on her birthday by letting her do NOTHING!
We got her a pie because her birthday is Pi day
(3.14)
But she didn't feel like eating any.
LUCKILY,
we had a party for her this weekend,
so she had her cake and ate it too!
She asked for a unicorn!
And her two besties came over.
Kristy and Oakley!
Unicorns aplenty!
They painted statues of their favorite animals, they made their own mini pizzas,
and they watched LOTS of bluey!
It's so difficult to put into words how much we love Cora.
Her personality has added so much to our family.
All the kids are funny and talented,
and Cora is no exception.
As the baby of the family,
she does her very best to keep up with all the other kids.
She's getting involved in video games
and insists to me that she knows what she's doing...
she is good at scrolling around map screens.
I'll give her that.
She is Dolly's constant companion.
Always following Dolly and wanting to play with her.
I only wish Dolly wasn't so stubborn.
It's sad that sometimes she completely ignores her!
But Cora is growing on Dolly
as she sees her as a valuable playmate.
It all depends on the moody dog.
But Cora's entire person is just a bundle of fun.
She is "sassy" people say,
and loves to put her hands on her hips when she's telling you off.
She still adores her Grandma fiercely,
and much prefers to watch Sheriff Callie down at her apartment.
They play card games,
and behave like old ladies.
She says the funniest things.
In primary, the Bishop was telling the story of the wisemen,
after a few sentences,
Cora sighed back into her chair and exclaimed,
"Do you just have a video of this?!"
It was hilarious/embarassing!
She's always just speaking her honest mind.
Not worrying about how people will take it.
It's kind of refreshing.
But we are also working on politeness!
She is getting ready for kindergarten.
She does Preschool at home with me.
Poor fifth child.
Poor fifth child.
Her preschool experience is much different than my first child's.
But she is still learning to write letters and numbers,
she does science experiments and art projects.
Even if not as often or as organized as my older kids.
We still have a lot of fun!
She has a spelling game,
and I don't know who makes this
but
WHAT?!
Beer?
As a child's spelling word?
haha.
I was dying.
Oh, Amazon!
She loves riding the horsey rides when we go to the mall.
Her life is so blessed.
Being the youngest at this phase in our life,
is pretty sweet.
She gets to eat out with mom and dad
quite a lot while the kids are at school,
and know just how to smile at mom to get me to buy her stuff!
I'm not even mad!
She's also a great helper at home,
doing lots of extra chores while the kids are gone too.
She sees it as a game and always gets lost in an imaginary world
while she is doing something mundane like sweeping.
She has the funniest way of describing things.
She gets frustrated because it takes me a while
to figure out the riddle sometimes.
But once it clicks in my mind what she is saying,
I laugh because of how perfectly her description really is.
She said to me she wanted to make cookies.
When I asked what kind,
she said,
"The orangey ones that have tiny pieces of something like chocolate,
that has a curl at the top,
but it doesn't taste like chocolate,
and it isn't all over,
just a little bit like dots on the cookie?"
She meant she wanted to make Butterscotch Chip cookies.
You get it now, right?
Or she'll tell the kids how we went
"To the big bouncy ball store,
that also has pants and stuff."
She means Old Navy.
I just can't imagine my life without her.
I miss all my kids when they go to school,
but since she is my baby,
I think it will be particularly hard to see her go to kindergarten in the fall.
Whatever will I do with myself?
Happy Birthday Cora!!
This day is so magical because of you!
