Russell's Baptism!
We had a long weekend off of school,
and it was perfect timing to head to Vegas for
a VERY SPECIAL DAY!
Russell-Roo was baptized!
Here he is with his beautiful Mama, Aunt Lisa.
Uncle Heath performed the ordinance.
Grant was a witness, and cheerleader!
What a great family to be around!
They are so happy, fun and uplifting!
They have their trials, but it never interferes with their
level of happiness and fun.
And it only strengthens me to be with them and their faithful attitude.
They are great examples of people who know
God loves them,
and they love Him too.
Aunt Anji was also there, and Heath's parents!
Great brothers!
They technically have separate rooms at their house,
but Russell misses Grant so much,
that he dragged his mattress into Grant's room to sleep,
every night!
This is what our family will look like with 6 kids~
Three boys, and three girls.
Let's pray this new baby is as handsome as Russell!
So Richard was baptized in this same church building,
almost 30 years-ago to the day that Russell was baptized here.
It was a fun realization that Richard pointed out to us,
many
many
many
times.
😜
Here he is saying,
"30 years ago I probably stood by this tree
like this for my own baptism..."
NOW, WE PARTY!
ASHBOCKER STYLE!
The Ashbocker style of partying has come with a curse.
The curse of the store bought cake.
CONGRADULATIONS
RUSSELL!!
AND it was their second attempt,
but still wrong.
Hilarious.
If you don't believe me about the curse...
Here's a flashback to Grant's.
CONGRATULATIOS
GRANT!
Also hilarious.
We swam, we ate delicious grilled pizza, ice cream cake,
and much more!
It sounds like an ad, but Come to the Ashbocker's!
Where the cake is always misspelled,
but the fun is unforgettable!

Speaking of curses....
We hit a roadblock.
In the middle of the night on the way home.
Both passenger rear tires blew on the RV.
It was a scary experience, but we were all ok.
Britta, um, the tires are over there...
We had to find a tow truck big enough in the middle of nowhere Utah
to take the RV and our whole family to safety.
Luckily we found someone!
And he was nice enough to let us sleep in the RV in his lot
so we didn't have to find a surely haunted hotel.
Some of us did our sleeping in the tow truck!
Parker was such a super star.
He carried Cora on his shoulders on the side of the road so she would be safe,
and then he let his little brother sleep on his shoulder.
Colette also held the dog the whole time to keep her calm.
It's great to have kids that really rise to the occasion
when things are stressful and you need their help.
The next day, while the tires were being fixed, we explored the tiny town
of Fillmore, Utah.
They had a market.
They even let us bring in the dog.
We also found a thrift store and a dollar tree,
all within walking distance!
I definitely got my steps in that day!
Now we've made it safely home.
It could have been a lot worse.
But we learned a lot about how to handle tough situations
together as a family.
And Mitchell is paying it forward
letting Cora have a turn sleeping on his shoulder!
