Mitchell's 13th Birthday!

The early bird gets the presents!

Even if the early bird isn't quite awake yet,
but when your birthday is on a  school day in the winter...
you can't fight mother nature.  

We had a small family party 
with ice cream cake!

Sterling is blown away!

And now so are the candles!

 

This was a video made the day of Mitchell's birthday this year.

Lots of snow!

Mitchell, good ol' #3

fits right into this family.

He is a little social butterfly.

He can get a long with any group at school,

and could have fun with any kid he sits next to.

He is a straight A student,

and gets nominated for all 

the student government positions.

He is part of a club at school that visits 

around classes to teach leadership skills.

He was nominated by every teacher he has.

While he loves being loud,

making jokes

and laughing with his friends,

He often can be so quiet that I can't find him.

Then he'll be hiding away in his room

with a book he just can't put down!

He is getting pretty good at football.

He has begun lifting weights with his friends

to get something he calls

"Rizz"

He is always spouting off some trendy phrase like

"That is Fire!"

"Fully cooked"

"This spaghetti is bussin'"

"I can't wait to pull the huzz bro"

"Green shell in 8th place is crazy bro"

I pretend to understand 

and then ask Colette later what he means.

Speaking of Colette,

this year being his 13th birthday,

now opens up a new level of movies for him.

He can now watch PG-13!

She is helping guide him through

the most important films that he has been missing,

 in her opinion.

He loves playing with Sterling

and can always make him laugh.

Sterling loves going to Mitchell's bedroom door,

and shoving until it opens.

Then he scours for old Halloween candy

and climbs up on brother's bed.

Aside from Football,

he is practicing a lot of basketball,

which he doesn't like as much

but is trying to keep busy.

What he lacks in time management,

he makes up with charm and obedience.

He always has a smile on his face,

freckles on his nose,

and something up his sleeve.
