During Christmas,
Richard gave every one of us
a coupon for ONE FREE piece of furniture.
Sterling already cashed his in
for a NEW BED!
But it looks like a house!
We stained it black,
and hung a curtain on one side
(to block the light)
We are hoping that this will help him
not sleep in our bed so much.
Which is where he always ends up at night.
It hasn't worked yet.
He'll sleep a little bit in his bed,
but he'll always gravitate back to
mom and dad.
Oh well,
he's only a baby once.
Colette wanted to take his picture,
and he gave her the nastiest look!
January brought in a little bit of snow,
but I have to say that the snow levels
this year have been really lackluster.
Look at him,
he's obviously not impressed.
He would rather be inside anyway,
Eating ice cream!
And speaking of ice cream!
We love celebrating Britta's birthday
with an ice cream cake!

Britta also had her ballet recital!
She did a lovely job!
Somebody needed to take a break
from the three hour recital,
to get a drink of hogwash.
That's hogwash all right!
Britta also graduated from DARE!
Also with her bestie Akayla!
Cora is still really excelling at gymnastics!
She can climb so high!
And Mitchell signed up to be the 8th grade
basketball manager again!
He participates in practice also
to help him develop his skills.
And speaking of basketball,
This is Britta's foot after her third basketball game.
Metatarsal 5 is fractured!
Another bone bites the dust.
And poor Britta is out for the season,
walking around in her new boot.
We don't even really know what happened!
It was a wild game with girls tripping
and falling on the floor left and right!
Somehow Britta ended up in the mix,
and then started hobbling off the court!
She looked up at me and gave me a big
THUMBS DOWN!
She told me later that she heard and felt
and loud popping sound.
And that's all it took.
We've brought in the little picnic table
for Sterling to eat and play on.
He can usually be found here
for meals,
or coloring,
or sand castles.
But he rarely eats alone.
The end of January brought about
THE SWEETHEARTS DANCE!
where the girls ask the boy of their dreams!
Parker with the lovely Adi!
They hung out with some friends,
at their film teacher's house.
His daughter was one of the party!
Eventually they headed to the dance!
After they got in some practice twirls!
Colette asked her new beau, Sam!
She was so beautiful!
They are a fun pair!
Her friend Hattie was in the group as well,
and even though it was unplanned,
they came matching!
Neither one of them minded.
It was a fun group of ten kids.
came to our house for pizza
and movies
and of course there was DANCING!
It was a pretty rockin' night!
So many beautiful events to get us through
January!
