You might be in Texas if...
I haven't visited my home in {five} years.
A little embarrassing to admit, but there you go.
So some of the things we have been seeing astonish me.
It's like when you go see a matinee
and while you are in the dark theater you forget that it's noon.
So when you walk outside, it's like {Whoa! My eyes!}
-thank you Richard for the metaphor-
Anyway, I had to jot down some of these insanely entertaining things we saw here in Texas:
1. Henrietta, TX Chamber of Commerce offices located in a train car.
2. A cow locked in an impound lot.
3. The TEXAN home of the FREE 72 oz steak if you can eat it in an hour.
4. Smalltown Sheriff's office, complete with a prisoner wandering around outside the front yard {in completely striped pajamas thank you very much} kicking around rocks because he was bored to death. We were surprised he didn't have a ball and chain. We laughed for about ten miles about that one.
5. Filming locations for Walker Texas Ranger. {by the way, you know most people in Texas sleep with a gun under their pillow, but Chuck Norris sleeps with a pillow under his gun.}
6. Armadillo Toes.
So, what have we been doing?
1. Richard and my dad played tag outside on our two acres of land. Richard was on a lawnmower and my dad was on a dirt bike.
2. Richard was interviewed for the local online newspaper about winning his fellowship. Small town celebrity.
3. Shopping.
4. Wii-ing.
5. And currently my dad and Richard are making peach man jam.
Here is a list of things we hope to see soon:
1. The largest crucifix in the western hemisphere.
2. Cadillac Ranch.
3. San Antonio.
4. Mile markers.
5. Deep fried alligator tail.

God Bless Texas.
Wish I was home too so we could catch up. Have a great time and make sure you get to eat... 1) a Whataburger, 2) a snowcone, 3) Tex-Mex food! and of course... say Hi to your dad for me!
ReplyDeleteYou must have driven on I-40.. I've seen the signs for the 72 oz steak (never tried it) and I've seen the cross before too!
