one afternoon

It was late in the afternoon. 

I was taking a short break from my super-hero mom activities, 

while the kids played upstairs.

Then suddenly I realized that I was hearing 

the dreaded sound that every mother fears

...silence...

I bounded up the stairs to catch them in the act of 

whatever it was that they were doing 

that was undoubtedly life threatening or illegal.

But surprisingly, I only burst out in laughter...

Parker and Colette had climbed into Richard's pajama bottoms,

pretending to be, 

well, pants I suppose.

I joked that it should be their Halloween costume. 

They are seriously considering it.

"HA! We are so FUNNY!"
