Birthday Week!

August always brings lots of Birthday wishes to our house!

Let's start with PARKER'S BIG 1-0!

How many ten year olds beg to carry their baby sister around in a pack?

How many ten year olds make gourmet sandwiches?

Or make Birthday morning Beignets?

Or would rather have fruit than cake?
(but still has a mom that insists cake be a part of the fruit somehow)

This guy.
The man.
My Parker.

His favorite food is Salad.
He will scarf down more lettuce than any ten year old around.
He's literally part rabbit.
He starts soccer season in a couple weeks!
It's his first official team sport, so he's pretty much the most excited kid on the planet.
He loves making jokes,
teasing his little sisters,
playing Legos for hours,
and playing his new Nintendo 3DS that he got for his birthday.
In fact, we hardly see him anymore.

Next, the birthday twins
RICHARD and COLETTE!

At a birthday picnic...

Same birthday,
same chinese animal year thing...
same goofy genes!

Richard has earned the respect of his co workers...
No higher respect can be bestowed on anyone than a likeness to Captain Picard.

The day before his birthday,
Richard and some co workers went to pick...
WILD HUCKLEBERRIES!
Only the greatest most delicious fruit on the face of this planet.

So we washed them...

...and jammed them!!
(And no I won't share.)

Speaking of twins,
Colette got HATCHIMAL TWINS!
It was a very expensive ten minutes of fun.
But she's always wanted it.
After a few hours of their baby whines,
we finally found the off switch!
(Now does Cora have one?)
haha.. jk

Speaking of Cora,
this girls gets so much love and attention!
Sweet Colette runs to get her when she cries
and usually beats me to it!
It's so nice to have so many helpers.

Around Richard's birthday we also acquired some sour cherries...
Yummy sour pie!

As for Colette, she asked for a SMASH CAKE!
So she got one...

Colette is very different from Parker
She would rather eat sugar than salad.
So a pretty normal, wonderful kid.
She recently has become a Dr. Pepper fanatic.
But can suck down a Cheerwine too almost as fast as her Dad.
She is really excelling at reading and the piano.
A stray cat has found favor in our back porch,
and so she can now claim she has a pet.
Which is her one wish in life.

Richard makes me more proud of him everyday!
He won some big grants at work to develop an invention he has.
He publishes more papers than I wish I could,
seeing as I'm the writer in the family.
He is currently doing some massive work on our yard,
which I will post about later.
And he just moved his sweet mother into our home.
He helps me keep her out of trouble until we can get her a new hip.

Happy birthday to my darling Leos.
