HAPPY BIRTHDAY PARKER!

Today this handsome stud is SEVEN YEARS OLD!

What we love about Parker...

He is so detail oriented.

He can tell me point by point the details of events that I am not present for.

Very useful as a mom.

I joked with his Kindergarten teacher that if you asked Parker to tell you the summary of a book he has read, it will usually be longer than the book itself!

He loves to talk!

He also is an early morning bird...

but a very considerate one that tries to keep quiet until the rest of us wake up.

He is an amazing helper, and is currently in the phase of looking for ways to be "proactive."

He loves to give me flowers.

He is getting old enough that he very quickly picks up on jokes and what is funny.

He will watch a show and pick up on the subtle things that none of the other kids get.

So witty!

We can even play board games that have age recommendations much older than he is, 

and he still catches on so quickly.

He loves to color, write, and swim.

He is getting really good at reading, writing, and math.

Would eat a ham and cheese sandwich everyday if I kept deli meat in better stock.

He has been such a good sport riding his three-year-old bicycle, 

amidst the jest of neighborhood kids.

(Just wait until he sees his NEW birthday bike!)

He takes great pleasure in organizing events...

much more so than enjoying the event itself.

His favorite thing to do is dress-up like superheroes.

He is very good at picking out his clothes too.

He is a very loyal friend.

Regardless of the fact that he is SEVEN years old,

he never tires of being cuddled and loved by his parents.

It doesn't matter that now he weighs 45 pounds instead of 3,

we still love to hold him just as much as we did when he was in the NICU.
