Lake Pend Oreille

While we were up in the beauty of Northern Idaho,
we decided to take a lake cruise on
Lake Pend Oreille

We spent the afternoon playing on the beach of the lake.

Making all manner of sand buildings,
or balancing on the distant logs.

Mom's view from the blanket.

That evening we hit the docks
for our dinner on the lake!

We started with a nice beverage service...
(we wish they would have warned it was extra)

Ok, I just read The Count of Monte Cristo
(unabridged)
And so I was geeking out over this mysterious island castle!
Just like in the book!
And it's here in Idaho!
The Count of Northern Idaho?

The haze is from the fires in Northern California.
kinda ominous

Then we have the salad appetizer...

Followed by chicken, rice pilaf, and steamed broccoli.
Yum...

There was also a delicious caramel brownie for desssert.

Colette liked it!
She like it a LOT!

13 years now, he is still surprised when I get out my camera!
Get used to it already!

See? Some kids enjoy the attention!

How regal and patriotic he looks!

On her second soda!
Good thing they had a head.
(nautical term for bathroom, not an actual head)

Blissfully unaware that this boat tour will take three hours.

Plenty of time to play games with Dad!

It was funny that of all the passengers on this dinner cruise,
we were the only ones with kids,
or under the age of 70.
That's why they call us Geriatric Millennials.
We just have old souls.

It was definitely worth seeing.
No matter how old or young.
The kids enjoyed it too.
Despite how long it was,
without technology of any kind,
there were no tantrums or tears shed!
We all had a great time.
